Why are my multi-item orders getting skipped?


Whiplash ships the oldest in-stock orders first. This puts multi-item orders at a disadvantage and can cause them to be skipped for single-item orders when:

  1. An item unintentionally oversells
  2. An inventory adjustment is required, resulting in the item being oversold
  3. Items come into stock one at a time, but never all at the same time

This can be solved by automatically splitting orders to ship what’s available now.


The definition of Reserved might be helpful here– the Available/Webstore inventory has been reduced to reflect the order, but there is no process to physically set the stock aside.
