Storage Fees

Whiplash charges a storage fee of $0.45 per cubic foot per month at a minimum monthly charge of $250. On the first of each month, your storage fee is calculated and a charge is added to your account for the previous month's storage.

How Storage Fees are Calculated

Storage rates reflect the amount of space it takes to keep your goods organized for order picking. To account for this, the first 100 pieces of an item are charged at 4x their literal volume. The rest of that item's inventory is billed at 1.5x its volume, as it can be stored in greater density.

Minimum storage fee

If your calculated monthly storage fee is under $250, we'll charge the difference. If you are shipping from multiple facilities, the minimum does not apply on a per-facility basis—it's network-wide.

Examples

Vinyls
12 x 12 x .125"
About $0.02 each for the first 100 in a SKU
About $0.007 each for the remainder in a SKU

T-shirts
12 x 9 x 1"
About $0.11 each for the first 100 in a SKU
About $0.04 each for the remainder in a SKU

Shoes
12 x 8 x 6"
About $0.60 each for the first 100 in a SKU
About $0.23 each for the remainder in a SKU

Multiple facilities

The minimum storage fee applies network-wide, but the first 100 units of each Item will be billed at 4x their literal volume per facility.

Testing Whiplash

I'm just sending a few items to Whiplash to make sure the integration is working correctly, and that the product looks good, before I send you everything. Can you waive the minimum fee for the first month?
The storage fee doesn't kick in until the end of the second month, giving you time to send us a small batch of inventory and see how well we work. It makes sense to be cautious and dip your toe in the water—you can also create a Trial Account.
