Preparing Products

To avoid assembly and sorting fees, your products should arrive to Whiplash ready to ship: pre-assembled, sorted, with a unique barcode for each SKU, and an associated Ship Notice. We are happy to help with whatever is necessary to get your products to meet these standards.

You are also responsible for making sure the inventory gets to us with all customs cleared and duties paid.


In most cases, we require a delivery appointment at least 48 hours before expected delivery. Please reach out to if you need your facility contact email.


All products need barcodes to exist in a Whiplash warehouse.

We recommend having your products barcoded inline with manufacturing. If your products need barcoding, we can do this when we receive the inventory. We charge $0.10 per unit for this service.

The barcodes we add are not Official UPC codes, so if you plan to sell in a retail store you will need to have one printed on your products before sending them to us.

Assembly / Sorting

If your products require assembly, sorting, or gathering upon receiving them, we can do this for a Project fee of $35 per hour of labor with a half hour minimum.

Floor-loaded containers

We request that all goods be palletized, but we certainly accept floor-loaded containers. Fees may be assessed for this time-sensitive labor.


When preparing your items for shipment to our warehouses, your items must be clearly separated by SKU. Simply bagging/inner boxing each SKU and labeling the outside of the bag/box is acceptable. Each variant of your product needs its own SKU—more info here.

If your product is especially breakable or vulnerable, it should arrive to us pre-packaged in such a way that it is protected from normal handling in our warehouse. If we're adding a barcode sticker, there needs to be a way for us to add the sticker without causing damage. Here are a few examples:

To avoid getting dirty or otherwise damaged during normal handling and storage, clothing should arrive with each unit folded and in a sealed polybag. If clothing arrives to us without packaging, our receiving teams will use their discretion and may bill you to fold and bag the items for their safety. We will charge our hourly project rate; this tends to be about $0.10–0.20 per unit, depending on size and complexity.

Posters / Art Prints
Posters should be sent to us individually sealed in Stayflat mailers or pre-tubed. If they are not pre-tubed, we will tube them all at the time of arrival and bill you for tubes and labor at that time. Barcode stickers will be applied to the tubes.

Vinyl Records
Records should be shrinkwrap or plastic record sleeve.


Electronics should be pre-boxed with adequate padding, just like any electronics you purchase in a store.

3D Art / Sculpture

Should be pre-boxed with adequate padding.

If these come delivered in master cases and single mugs are not protected or boxed individually we can receive them all into inventory for the amount delivered and at the point of packout/outbound processing we will wrap them appropriately in a voidfill/wrapping material and place in an outbound shipping box sized to fit the mug to ensure safe transit and delivery.
