We rely on projections from our customers to keep fourth-quarter shipping as smooth as the first three, as well as locking down features and signups to keep our full attention on shipping orders.
Projections
Without holiday projections, we won't know what's coming—and can't guarantee we'll be prepared for on-time shipments during this busy season. As we plan our holiday season together, please keep us up to date with the important dates through the end of the year. These might include:
- The dates (and relevant SKUs) of any sales you plan to run from now until January 1
- If you're new to Whiplash this year, any data you have from last year's Q4
- Inventory arrival dates for all expected shipments
Send any and all projections to holiday@getwhiplash.com. We'll make sure they end up in the right hands.
Preparation
It's quite common in e-commerce to hire temporary help during the holidays—please make sure they're well versed in the Whiplash dashboard before crunch-time. We're happy to provide relevant docs if you're planning to bring new users into the app.
If you plan to drop a hyped release and expect thousands of orders in the first hour, your e-commerce platform might not be able to keep up! It's worth reviewing this doc about avoiding overselling during flash sales.

Holiday Closures
All facilities are typically closed on all major holidays. In the US, this includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve.
Lockdown
We're locking down code and configurations to focus on shipping. As a result, no new carrier accounts or shipping methods can be created between November 5th and December 20th.
